Clutton, J. H.

Was born in 1844, and for thirty years he has been an ardent yachtsman. He started with a 5-tonner, the Rosemary, which was followed by the schooner Ondine, 60 tons, and with both these he did a good deal of cruising, though he returned shortly to small-boat sailing. He eventually purchased the 64-ton s.y. Adventuress, built by Camper and Nicholson, Gosport, which he now owns. He was for some years Honorary Treasurer of the Royal Temple Yacht Club, and gained great popularity among the members, and he is the Vice-Commodore of that club.
