Guest, Montague John

Third son of the first baronet, Sir J. J. Guest. Was born in 1839. He is one of the most prominent members of the Royal Yacht Squadron, and author of the famous history of that club, published in 1897. Probably few men have a wider knowledge of the history of yachting than Mr. Guest, and his history of the Royal Yacht Squadron, embracing as it does practi­cally everything of importance in connection with yachting since 1815, will ever remain a standard work. In addition to his con­nection with the Royal Yacht Squadron, Mr. Guest is Rear-Commodore of the Royal Dorset Yacht Club. He is a keen and enthusiastic sportsman, and has cruised and raced considerably both in home and foreign waters.
