Beckett, Hon. W. Gervase

Hon W Gervase Beckett was born in 1866. He held a commission as Captain of the Yorkshire Hussars, and became a partner in the banking firm of Beckett and Co., and is one of the principal proprietors of the Saturday Review. He is a keen yachtsman, and owner of the fine 134-ton ketch Lavengro, built by Stow at Shoreham in 1902. She is a bold-looking and very comfortable cruiser.
